The spider's body redistributes its internal mass so that the weight of the cephalothorax increases by about 80% and the abdomen decreases by about 30%. They generally do not feed on flour or cereals unless it has become caked. My kids are okay with this, and understood that that the ink won’t wash off completely until bath time. A small blister will form over the bite area, and over time, the spider's venom may cause the tissue around the bite to die, causing an ulcerated sore that heals very slowly.

It is initially a liquid, and hardens not by exposure to air but as a result of being drawn out, which changes the internal structure of the protein.
